The public broadcaster has to make cuts of 156 million euros, which means that various programs have to be canceled. One of them is Studio Football. The football talk program is in its final season. The program will cease to exist next summer.
Also Other Times Sports disappears from the tube. NOS makes that program together with NTR, broadcasts a winter and a summer edition and then it will disappear from television in 2027. “This hits hard,” said Xander van der Wulp, editor-in-chief of NOS Sport. ‘Studio Football in Other Times Sports are iconic programs with a rich history. But with cuts of this magnitude, these kinds of choices are inevitable.’
Presenter of Studio Voetbal Sjoerd van Ramshorst said he was ‘very disappointed’ with the decision. ‘Studio Football is the longest running football talk show in the Netherlands with almost 25 years, and I am happy that I have been working on this program with great colleagues for more than ten years. I also find it very annoying for them. Unfortunately, the reality is that cuts have to be made. That is very annoying, but let us ensure that we continue to make good programs at NOS with less money.’
