Slafkovský Goal Streak: Canadiens Fall in NHL Action

MONTREAL. Slovakian hockey forward Juraj Slafkovský from Montreal scored his second assist of the season in the NHL night game.

However, the Canadiens finally lost at home to Philadelphia 4:5 after overtime and separate raids. Slafkovský scored in the fourth game in a row.

Montreal had a three-game winning streak, but got off to a very poor start against Philadelphia. The Flyers outshot the home team 12-2 in the first period and led 3-0 after that.

However, the Canadiens got up in the second and although they also fell short in terms of shots (9:17), they were able to turn the score around with four goals.

In the 36th minute, defender Lane Hutson kept the offensive zone in the power play, moved the puck to Slafkovský, who extended the pass to Ivan Demidov, who then shot past goalkeeper Dan Vladař.

In the middle of the second period, Slafkovský got into a conflict with two opposing players after trying to reach the puck in front of the goal. After a fight with Garnet Hathaway, both received a minor punishment.

In the end, Nikita Grebjonkin sent the duel to overtime, for whom it was the first goal in the NHL. Only Trevor Zegras, the attacker of the guests, scored in separate raids.

In addition to his second assist of the season, Slafkovský also scored two penalty minutes and one shot. He spent a total of 18:29 minutes on the ice. In the ongoing 2025/2026 season, he has a balance of 6 goals and 2 assists after 13 matches.

The match between the NY Islanders and Boston also reached separate raids. The Bruins triumphed in it 4:3 and achieved their fourth victory in a row.

Erik Černak was also in action, whom Tampa lost 2:3 on the ice of Colorado. The Slovak defender did not register in the Canadian scoring, one plus point was added to his statistics.
