The coach of the Radnički football club from the city of Kragujevac, 45-year-old Mladen Zizovic, died during the match of the 14th round of the Serbian championship against the Mladost club from Lucani. reports Serbian newspaper novosti.rs.
According to the publication, when the score was 0:2 in favor of Radnicka, Zizovic, who was near the field line, fell to the ground. Club colleagues and players ran up to him, and the players on the field stopped the game and called the ambulance crew on duty at the stadium. The doctors loaded the coach onto a stretcher, placed him in an ambulance and took him to the Luciani Health Center. There they tried to revive the man, but to no avail. The exact cause of death of the coach was not reported; preliminary, it was a heart attack.
The match continued, but after 17 minutes it was reported that Zizovic had died, the game was abandoned. How writes Telegraf, some players fell to the lawn in despair after the tragic news.
According to eyewitnesses, by the time the doctors arrived at the stadium, the coach already had blue, almost black, skin color. During lunch before the match, the coach complained of nausea.
Home team coach Neshko Milovanovic called the day of the coach’s death very difficult not only for Zizovic’s family, but also for the entire football community.
Mladen Zizovic took over the coaching staff of the Radnički team less than two weeks ago, replacing Aleksandar Luković. He was a famous football player in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and in 2016 he began his coaching career.
The coach left three children – two daughters and a son.
