Senne Lammens swallowed his first defeat as Manchester United’s number one, and the English press was unrelenting. After a questionable goal was conceded, the media handed out hard figures.
Senne Lammens has suffered his first defeat as Manchester United’s first goalkeeper. The Red Devils could do little against a ten-man Everton. The Toffees scored the winning goal after their red card.
The Belgian goalkeeper did not go completely free when conceding the goal. A curling ball from Tiernan Dewsbury-Hall did not go far into the corner, Lammens still felt the leather with his fingertips, but still had to give in.

Three times a 5/10 and even a 4/10 for Senne Lammens
The English media is therefore strict. He gets a 5/10 from Express. “He had his first doubtful moment in a United shirt in the Dewsbury-Hall goal, where he could have put a firmer hand. He was otherwise solid, but that shot decided the game.”
Manchester Evening News gave him the same rating (5/10). “Should have intervened better on the Dewsbury-Hall goal. His starting position made it difficult to get to his left side quickly enough,” it said. SkySports rated Lammens: 4/10, without further explanation.
Daily Mail also gave it a 5/10. “He has made few mistakes since his promotion to United’s number one, but as good as Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s goal was, Lammens was wrong. Replays showed that he had already jumped before the shot, so his second push left him vulnerable and the ball went in.”
