School Shooting Plot Foiled: Weapons & Arrest

A chilling plot, meticulously planned and disturbingly detailed, was thwarted thanks to a critical alert from the FBI. The agency warned Argentine authorities about an individual disseminating violent manifestos, Nazi iconography, and explicit references to school massacres across social media platforms.

This intelligence triggered a swift and decisive operation, orchestrated in collaboration with the Specialized Cybercrime Fiscal Unit (UFECI) and the Argentine Federal Police. The coordinated effort led to the identification of the young man and a subsequent raid on his residence. The findings at the scene provided undeniable confirmation of the gravity and scope of his intentions.

Authorities discovered a cache of alarming items, including replicas of firearms, knives, ammunition, pepper spray, and Molotov-type explosives. Two cell phones, a USB drive, and several notebooks filled with disturbing writings were also seized, painting a grim picture of the individual’s mindset.

The notebooks, confirmed by investigators, contained a chilling farewell letter and a detailed blueprint for an attack. This plan included specific dates, sequential steps, and clearly defined objectives, demonstrating a disturbing level of premeditation.

The individual had meticulously outlined his strategy, including how he would impersonate a law enforcement officer, isolate students within classrooms, and the subsequent actions he intended to take. The documents also revealed an unsettling focus on tracking the response times of security forces and identifying potential escape routes.

Investigators have characterized the writings as “methodical and obsessive.” Disturbingly, one of the seized items, a replica submachine gun, bore the engraved names of notorious mass shooters, including Brenton Tarrant, Anders Breivik, and Rafael Solich (known online as “Sad Pan”).

On social media, the teenager had actively published content that expressed apologies for Nazism, propagated hate speech, and glorified violence, further underscoring the depth of his extremist ideology.

Prosecutor Horacio Azzolin, leading the UFECI, issued the order for the search, which was subsequently authorized by National Criminal and Federal Correctional Court No. 1, presided over by Judge María Servini. The young man has been placed under the court’s jurisdiction and admitted to the Forensic Medical Corps for a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation.

Sources close to the investigation indicate that authorities believe the teenager acted alone. Though, potential links to online communities that actively promote extremist ideologies have not been entirely dismissed. As investigators emphasized, It was not an impulse or an empty threat. There was planning, structure and purpose.

The finding of the notebooks, coupled with the farewell letter, revealed not only a concrete intention to commit violence but also a disturbing captivation with the destructive power and notoriety of the criminals he idolized.
