During this week, the Hylo Open 2025 is being held in Saarbrucken (Germany), an absolute event belonging to the World Tour and where the Spanish duo formed by the Andalusian Rubén García and the Galician Lucía Rodríguez have made history by reaching the semifinals in the DX event.
García (Granada) and Rodríguez began their journey in German lands by beating the Czechs Ondrej Kral and Tereza Svabikova in three games (21-15/19-21/21-8). In the second round they achieved victory in two sets against the Chinese Taipei couple formed by Ye Hong Wei and Nicole Gonzales Chan (21-14/22-20). And today in the quarterfinals they have managed to overcome the French Julien Maio and Lea Palermo (23-21/21-14), with a victory that will allow them tomorrow to fight for a place in the final in their confrontation against the Danes Mathias Christiansen and Alexandra Boje.
García also participated in the DM test with Carlos Piris, where they were defeated in three sets in the first round by the Canadians Jonathan Bing Tsan Lai and Nyl Yakura (18-21/21-14/21-13).
