Has Pereira already chosen? Jiří Procházka’s team reacts to strange speculations
Information about another light heavyweight title fight is spreading on the Internet.
Alex Pereira’s future remains uncertain. Although the Brazilian butcher has indicated that he would like a fight with Jon Jones in the heavyweight division, it cannot be ruled out that he will stay at light heavyweight and face another challenger. There is a lack of official information, so speculation is circulating on the Internet.
One such account was served by Octagon Pulse two days ago. In a post on the X platform, he shared an image of a fictional match between Pereira and Carlos Ulberg, also worth noting is the January 24 date. The author of the post claims that the UFC management is working on this very battle, which should decorate the new collaboration with Paramount.

This would mean that Jiří Procházka will not see the third match with “Poatan” in the near future, and his next duel would not have to be for the title, even though he is now in a great position. He is right behind the champion in the light heavyweight division rankings. Procházko’s team, however, takes such news with a grain of salt.
“We don’t have any info. I’m amused by these reports. They’re just speculation,” responded Jaroslav Hovězák in a comment for iSport.cz. “We have a meeting next week about the next fight, but as far as I know, confirmation of the date and opponent is not on the agenda. We don’t know anything yet, the cards can be shuffled in different ways. Now it’s in the hands of UFC managers and matchmakers.”
The coach subsequently revealed that Procházka is working hard, currently concentrating on strength training, but according to his estimation, the mentioned deadline is unrealistic. In short, the samurai would not have had time to complete the complete preparation.
