Ogier, ready to fight for the drivers’ world championship in the final round of the year, the Saudi Arabia Rally, expects quite a few surprises from the latter.
It will be the first time we see an international rally in that area, which it already is a valid reason to expect great moments. Many participants of this year’s championship are very focused on understanding what will be the right approach to adopt during the stages, even if what they saw in the stage in Kenya or in other competitions in Arabia outside the WRC, such as in the Dakar, can be of great help.
Speaking of which, Juho Hänninen, Toyota’s test driver already visited the track at the beginning of the year, when a round of the Middle East Rally Championship was held as a test for what we will see in these next few days. Impressions from back then they were mostly negativeand some rounds were even canceled to avoid dangers of force majeure.
Returning to the ranks of official drivers, the champion Sebastien Ogier is one of the first to show caution for this race. “This rally will hold many surprises for us, even if we hope for the opposite” said the Frenchman on the Saudi Arabia Rally. “We need to find the right setup and put on an excellent race, with as few problems as possible”.
Sebastien is currently behind his teammate and race rival Elfyn Evans by just 3 pointswhile Rovanpera still has some minimal hopes of attempting the 3rd world championship before leaving the competition.
