Nečas’s Fast Starts: NHL on Notice

Martin Nečas performed an unusual feat in the second NHL hockey game in a row. The Czech forward opened the scoring again in the first minute. First, against Vegas, he scored in the 41st second, now in the contest, San Jose changed the goalless status even eleven seconds earlier. Despite a great start, this time his Colorado lost 2:3 in overtime.

Nečas, who signed a lucrative eight-year contract this week, scored in the third game in a row and has 17 points and is the most productive Czech in the competition.

He is ahead of David Pastrňák in the ranking thanks to more goals scored. The native of Nové Město na Moravě has won for the ninth time and, together with eight other hockey players, he is chasing Nathan MacKinnon and Cole Caufield, who rule the league statistics with ten accurate hits.

Despite four shooting attempts, Pastrňák came up empty-handed against Carolina, but Boston still won 2:1 and enjoyed its third triumph in a row.

The assist for the Bruins’ first goal went to Pavel Zacha, who improved his tally this year to two goals and ten assists.

The match against Toronto did not go well for Daniel Vladař. The Czech goalkeeper defending the colors of Philadelphia substituted at the beginning of the third period with a score of 1:4, and the Flyers eventually fell 2:5.

Vladař entered the match in Toronto as the goalkeeper with the second best save success rate in the league. Before the duel, he was proud of a 94 percent balance and only looked at the back of Jonathan Quick from the New York Rangers.

Against the Maple Leafs, however, he conceded four goals from 19 shots, and after 33 seconds of the third period, he gave up his place to substitute Alexei Kolos. Flyers change in the goal area did not help the turnaround, they lost for the first time after three wins in a row.
