Deportivo Independiente Medellín took the first step to qualify to the final of the BetPlay 2025 Cup. On their visit to the Polideportivo Sur stadium, they beat Envigado by the slightest difference, a team that played almost the entire second half with one less man due to the expulsion of Didier Palacios.
The match was difficult for DIM due to Envigado’s defensive approach. Double line of four to contain a high-level attack led by Léider Berrío, Luis Sandoval, Francisco Fydriszewski and company.

Finally, The score was 0-1 at 84′ thanks to Diego Moreno. Cross into the Londoño area, Torijano’s header to the far post and Moreno’s header.
The last clear goal option for DIM was at 90+3′ with a free kick from Londoño that was well saved by Montoya. Despite the defeat, Envigado’s number one was one of the best of the afternoon at the Sur Sports Center.
