The competitive judo season is heating up, and OK Club Imperia proved thay’re ready for the challenge, together fielding athletes in high-stakes national finals and dominant regional performances. This past Sunday, November 23rd, saw the club’s top juniors testing their mettle at the Italian A2 championships in Follonica, while a formidable contingent battled for regional supremacy in Arenzano. It was a weekend that underscored the depth of talent and the unwavering spirit within the Imperia judo community.

National Stage: Experience Gained at the Italian A2 Championships

In Follonica, the spotlight was on two of OK Club Imperia’s most promising junior black belts: Marta Brignola and Nicola Saglietto. Competing at the Italian A2 Championships is no small feat, representing the pinnacle of junior competition in Italy. Both athletes showcased remarkable resilience and skill on the tatami, demonstrating the kind of composure that seasoned competitors possess.While the medal count didn’t swing their way this time, their performances were far from a loss. Nicola Saglietto battled fiercely in the up to 60 kg category, securing a respectable 17th place. Not far behind, Marta Brignola narrowly missed a top-ten finish in the 57 kg division, landing in 11th place.
