Nicolas Jackson can play for FC Bayern from the start against Bayer Leverkusen. He rewards himself with a goal – but celebrates with a sad message.

He benefited from his coach’s willingness to experiment: Against Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern coach Vincent Kompany rotated to seven positions – and also had Nicolas Jackson up front from the start.

The 24-year-old Senegalese repaid the trust with his first Bundesliga goal: in the 31st minute he scored the second goal in the 3-0 win. Things turned sad during the goal celebration, however, as Jackson pulled his jersey over his head to display a message on a shirt underneath. It said in English: “RIP my brother Fokzo.”

“Fokzo” is Ibrahima Fokene Sané, the president of the Senegalese Motor Club. He died on October 27th as a result of an illness and was one of Jackson’s good friends. His first Bundesliga goal was the perfect timing for the striker to honor his late friend.
