Incheon City Council Chairman Jeong Hae-kwon attended the opening ceremony of the ‘2025 Incheon Citizen Sports Competition’ held at Seonhak Gymnasium on the 10th, emphasizing the importance of sports for everyday life and delivering a message for the health and harmony of citizens.

This competition was hosted by the Incheon City Sports Council and sponsored by the city of Incheon, and 900 people, including county and district representative athletes and sports officials, participated.

Participants competed in six sports, including soccer, badminton, foot volleyball, table tennis, bowling, and kendo, creating an opportunity for harmony and exchange.

In his congratulatory address, Chairman Jeong Hae-kwon said, “Life sports is the power of the community that goes beyond creating a healthy body and connects the hearts of citizens. I hope that we will support and respect each other through the games and show Incheon’s power.”

He also promised, “Consistent exercise not only increases individual happiness, but also the vitality of the city and the energy of the community,” and “Incheon City Council will create a daily sports environment in which all citizens can easily participate, and will actively work to expand sports facilities and support programs.”

Chairman Chung hoped that the competition would be a festival enjoyed by everyone beyond winning and losing, and prayed for the health and safety of both athletes and citizens.

This competition provided an opportunity for Incheon citizens to enjoy and unite together, and served as an opportunity to once again remind us of the importance of daily sports.

Sports for daily life is an important element that strengthens citizens’ health and community solidarity, and requires continuous support and efforts from Incheon City.
