Obviously, Dana White is looking forward to bringing Ciryl Gane and Tom Aspinall together again in the heart of the octagon. At the end of October, the fight ended in Abu Dhabi. It ended in a “no-contest” – no winner was chosen – due to an unintentional injury. The Vendéen had involuntarily projected his fingers into the eyes of the reigning UFC heavyweight champion.
At the end of the fight, the news was rather reassuring for the 32-year-old Briton, but his father was still worried. This Thursday, the UFC boss commented on Aspinall’s current state. Information likely to reassure fans of the fighter, but also followers wishing to attend a rematch between the champion and the Frenchman.
“His eye is not damaged”
“He doesn’t have a retinal detachment and his eye isn’t damaged,” Dana White said during an interview on The Jim Rome Show. “He should recover quickly and we will then decide when to reschedule the fight,” continued the person close to Donald Trump.
The boss of the major MMA organization is therefore optimistic about a rematch between the two fighters. It remains to be determined whether Aspinall will risk meeting Gane once again in the octagon.
