According to the NBB, Flamengo was not aware of Corinthians away from home
Five games, five wins. Flamengo’s start is overwhelming in Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB). This Friday (31), Pride of the Nation beat the Corinthiansaway from home, 103 to 77, and shut out the Professor Hugo Ramos gym, in Mogi das Cruzes.
With the result, Flamengo remains leader of the NBB. So far, Flamengo has beaten Bauru, Unifacisa, Fortaleza, São José and now Corinthians. Only Mengão, Minas and Brasília have 100% in the competition. The last two enter the court this Saturday (01).
HOW WAS THE GAME?
The match started very strangely for Flamengo, with Corinthians about to lead 18 to 5. However, Mengão managed to react quickly and reduced the loss. Therefore, the first period ended with a difference of just one point for the home team: 23 to 22.
Then, from the second quarter onwards, Flamengo’s rampage began. With a strong defense and an inspired attack, Mengão scored an impressive 24-11 and went into the dressing room with 46-34. Therefore, the team led by Sergio ‘Oveja’ Hernández only needed to manage the final 20 minutes to come out with the victory.
The third period was closer to the first, with balance. Even so, Flamengo managed to increase the advantage (22 to 19 in the partial) with a great performance from Negrete. In the last one, Corinthians even tried to react in the first minutes, but didn’t come close to scaring Pride of the Nation.
WHEN WILL THE NEXT FLAMENGO BASKETBALL GAME BE?
More leaders than ever in the NBB, Flamengo will try to maintain 100% success away from home again, in the same gym this Friday (31), Hugo Ramos, only now against Mogi. The ball will go up from 8pm next Monday (03), broadcast by FlamengoTV on YouTube.
