Fenerbahçe Coach Leads Tiny Nation to World Cup

Curaçao, one of the most modest island countries in the Caribbean with a population of 150 thousand, has achieved a historical success.

Curaçao National Team, which has been led by Dutch coach Dick Advocaat since January 2024, gained the right to directly participate in the World Cup after last night’s match against Jamaica ended in a goalless draw.

THEY WILL BE THE FIRST IN HISTORY

With this result, Curaçao bought the ticket for the giant organization to be held in partnership with the USA, Mexico and Canada in 2026, and was recorded as the lowest-populated country in the history of the World Cup to have the right to participate.

Jamaica, which was on the other side of the historic match, was very disappointed after the result.

ADVOCAAT COULD NOT FOLLOW THE FIGHT

In the statement made on the Curaçao national team’s social media account before the match, it was stated that Advocaat went to the Netherlands for personal reasons.

Although the 78-year-old experienced coach could not lead his team in the historic match, he joined the joy after the match from beyond the continent.
