Elfic will not play in the round of 16 of the Ladies EuroCup. Beaten 90-65 on the floor of Sleza Wroclaw during the last day of the group stage, the Fribourgeoises are not among the four best third-placed groups.
The disillusionment is great for Romain Gaspoz’s players, who would have qualified for sure in the event of victory. But Wroclaw, who had already won by 22 points in the first leg in Fribourg, did not do them any favors on Thursday to seek their own qualification.
This game started in an ideal way for the Elves, who led 28-18 in the 12th minute. But Sleza Wroclaw then inflicted a terrible 19-0 on the Fribourgeoises to definitively take control.
Nyon also defeated
Eliminated even before this last day, Nyon Basket Féminin concluded its European campaign with a fifth defeat in six matches in group G. The 2024/25 Swiss champions lost 89-80 in Gland against Panathinaikos, who for their part were assured of playing in the round of 16 before this match.
