D2 ACFF: Player Cardiac Arrest Halts Match – Football News

During the D2 ACFF match between CS Pays Vert Ostiches-Ath and USD Jette, a visiting player suffered a major cardiac incident. The match was stopped.

Terrible scene in D2 ACFF, during the match between Hennuyers from CS Pays Vert Ostiches-Ath and Brussels from USD Jette. At the very start of the second half, Tyron Somwe, a young player from Jette (20 years old), collapsed, suffering from a heart attack.

The match was therefore interrupted in the 48th minute, with emergency medical services entering the field. After half an hour of treatment, Somwe was taken to hospital, suffering from major discomfort.

Unsurprisingly, the match did not come to an end. The score was 1-0 in favor of the Pays Vert following a scorer from David Cardon, the former RAEC Mons striker.

The ACFF will decide to postpone the meeting to a later date. In the meantime, all our thoughts are with Tyron Somwe, to whom we can only wish a speedy recovery, his club and his entourage.
