The Crozon Badminton Club is experiencing a surge in popularity, boasting approximately fifty members this year, including around twenty enthusiastic children who regularly gather at the Crozon sports complex to hone their skills.
Annual Tournament set for June 20, 2026
The club offers year-round open play sessions, providing opportunities for members to play during holidays and welcome visiting tourists. These free play and training sessions are held on Mondays and Wednesdays. Children aged 8 to 18 can participate from 5:40 p.m. to 7 p.m., while adult sessions run from 7 p.m.on Mondays and 8 p.m.on Wednesdays.
Throughout the year, a friendly interclub challenge, dubbed the “Bad’aboum challenge,” unites about ten local clubs, including those from Plomodiern, Telgruc, Landeleau, and the Ty Vougeret gendarmerie school. These events feature singles and mixed doubles matches, culminating in a communal meal, reminiscent of a village gathering. These friendly competitions occur at least every two to three weeks.
The club recently revived its annual tournament after a 15-year hiatus. the inaugural event, held in early November 2025,successfully attracted 45 mixed doubles teams from across Finistère. The Crozon team aims to build on this success, with the next tournament scheduled for June 20, 2026.
A Launchpad for Young Talent
While not affiliated with the national federation, the Crozon club serves as a vital progress ground for young players. Titouan Veillot, who began his badminton journey at the club with his father, David, was later recruited by the Badminton Club of Quimperlé. He now competes at regional and national levels. The 16-year-old, who attends high school in Quimperlé with a focus on sports, frequently returns to Crozon to play with and against his former coaches.
WhatS great here is that we always play in a good mood, which doesn’t stop us from playing at a good level!
Veillot remarked, racket in hand and a smile on his face.
