Tragedy struck on the football pitch this past Monday as Mladen Žižović, the Bosnian coach for Serbian club FK Radnički 1923, passed away suddenly during a match.The 44-year-old suffered a fatal heart attack near the sideline in the 22nd minute of play. Despite immediate medical attention, he died a few minutes later en route to the hospital.
At the time of the incident, Žižović’s team was leading the match 2-0. after receiving first aid on the field, the former Bosnian international was transported to the hospital. Play briefly resumed before the referee was informed of the devastating news, leading to the match’s premature end in the 41st minute. This was only Žižović’s third match in charge of FK Radnički 1923.
The players were visibly devastated by the loss, taking a considerable amount of time to leave the field. Bojan puzigaca, Žižović’s assistant coach, was overcome with emotion. The club has announced a memorial gathering scheduled for Wednesday, November 5. In a statement, the club’s management remembered Žižović as someone who “left an indelible mark” through his expertise, composure, and integrity.

The Serbian Football Federation expressed its sorrow, calling the event “an immense loss for the entire football family.” They added, Your love of football and the legacy you left will remain with us forever.
