Big news from Germany: Bayern Munich and Feyenoord are said to have opened talks about a transfer of Givairo Read. This is reported by the German branch of Sky Sports. There would also be a lot of interest from the Premier League for Read.
According to Sky Sport, Bayern is looking for a talented full-back and Read has come on the radar for that vacancy. Discussions with Feyenoord about a transfer have even reportedly already started. Read is still with the Rotterdam team until mid-2029. The wing defender emerged as a regular starter at Feyenoord last season and is even third captain under Robin van Persie this year.
Bayern Munich wouldn’t be the only club to have Read on the shortlist. Several Premier League teams are also said to be targeting him. It is not known whether those teams have already contacted Feyenoord. In Munich, Read is in any case seen as an important target for the coming transfer periods.
Last summer, Read also had the opportunity to leave Rotterdam. Then the ambitious Paris FC made an offer for the defender, but the offer was rejected by the defender himself. “They have made an offer, but I never had the intention to leave Feyenoord. I just want to stay here,” Read told ESPN in September.
