This event was held around a basketball court set up by partially blocking off the main street in front of Mitsukoshi BGC. The half court was provided by the Philippine Basketball Association (SBP).
■DAY1
Kiefer Ravena of the Yokohama B-Corsairs participated in the B.Hope ASIA Jr. Clinic held on the morning of Saturday, November 22nd, and provided guidance to local children in the Philippines. Additionally, Francis Lopez of Fighting Eagles Nagoya appeared as a guest at the B.Hope ASIA 1on1 Challenge held in the afternoon.
Furthermore, as a warm-up for the clinic, we held “DEFENSE ACTION,” an initiative created by Japan’s B.Hope to learn how to deal with natural disasters through basketball, for the first time outside of Japan. The Philippines, like Japan, is a region prone to natural disasters such as earthquakes and typhoons. By incorporating DEFENSE ACTION and combining it with the basic skill elements of basketball, the children learned knowledge and awareness about disaster prevention while having fun.

■DAY1 Yokohama B-Corsairs player Kiefer Ravena’s comment
We were able to enjoy the clinic together with 25 children. This was the first time that disaster prevention basketball was held in the Philippines. I think I was able to connect basketball and disaster response more closely than I had imagined, and was able to have fun learning about it. Additionally, the Pass It forward initiative is one of the important initiatives within this event. I would like to continue my Pass It forward activities both as a league and as an individual. I would be happy if many Filipino children played in the B.LEAGUE in the future.

■DAY1 Fighting Eagles Nagoya Francis Lopez’s comment
It was a great opportunity to participate in this B.Hope ASIA 1on1 Challenge. To be honest, I was really surprised as the level of the tournament was higher than I expected. Congratulations to the two winners in the men’s and women’s divisions respectively. I’m glad that even those who lost the game were able to see their passion for basketball.
I am glad that I was finally able to participate in this event.

■DAY2
At the B.Hope ASIA Jr. Clinic held on the morning of the 23rd (Sunday), Mr. Matthew Wright, who was active as a B.LEAGUE player until the 2024-25 season with Kawasaki Brave Thunders and others, participated as a guest coach. Similar to DAY1, we also carried out DEFENSE ACTION inside the clinic.

■Comment from Matthew Wright
I think this event was a very good event for the children. I also enjoyed watching the children play. Disaster prevention basketball is very unique, and both Japan and the Philippines, which are island countries, have many disasters. I thought it was a great opportunity to learn about basketball and self-defense together in this project.

■Comments from B.Hope ASIA Jr. Clinic participants
It was a very fun clinic. Through the clinic, I learned the importance of always being aware of the intensity and playing with a game in mind, even when practicing with teammates and friends. At DEFENSE ACTION, we learned how to value teamwork and how to protect ourselves while working together in the event of a disaster (tsunami, fire, earthquake).
■Pass It Forward
“Pass It Forward,” an initiative to collect donations of uniforms that are no longer worn and pass them on to their next owners, was carried out over two days. Social disparity is an issue in the Philippines. The uniforms collected at this event will be donated to children in the Philippines who want to play basketball.
