“We actually go to almost every AZ away match,” says Rein Simonis. The 57-year-old Heerhugowaarder has been to England for AZ several times in recent years. “London is a fantastic city, where football is very popular. Many people talk to us in the pubs and we have a nice beer with everyone.”

Simonis: “Whether you are for Tottenham Hotspur or Crystal Palace, everything is mixed up. Our experience is that it is always fun. Last night we also attended the Queens Park Rangers match against Southampton. It is special to experience this. The second half was especially exciting, despite our blue and white scarves, QPR lost (1-2).”
