Ángel Haro & Ochando: Seville Derby Day Dining

Real Betis President Ángel Haro was spotted enjoying a pre-El Gran Derbi meal at Ochando, a newly awarded Michelin-star restaurant in the Seville province. Located in Los Rosales,Ochando recently earned its prestigious star at the Michelin Guide gala in Malaga, marking it as the third restaurant in Seville to receive this honor, joining the ranks of Abantal and cañabota.

Following his lunch, Haro met with the restaurant’s owners and staff. He presented Chef Juan Carlos Ochando with a Real Betis first-team jersey from the current 25-26 season, emblazoned with the restaurant’s name and the number ‘1’.

The restaurant shared a photo of the occasion on their Instagram account, @ochandorestaurante, showing juan Carlos Ochando and Ángel Haro posing with the gifted jersey. Notably, Ochando is a passionate supporter of Real Betis, while his wife supports Sevilla FC, a common dynamic that fuels the spirited rivalry between the two clubs.

The Michelin Guide 2026 recognized Ochando’s culinary excellence this past Tuesday. this accolade underscores the vibrant Sevillian culinary scene and positions this Vega del Guadalquivir establishment as the third active Michelin-starred restaurant in the province, alongside the established Abantal and Cañabota, which received its star in 2021. Ochando’s culinary philosophy centers on a contemporary interpretation of customary stews, rich broths, and deeply rooted flavors, all while prioritizing local ingredients. The restaurant’s journey has seen its menu evolve from humble beginnings, focusing on dishes like croquettes and meatballs,to a distinct identity characterized by refined stews, profound flavors, and subtle technique. The intimate dining space, featuring only seven tables, contributes to a cozy atmosphere that mirrors the surrounding rural surroundings and emphasizes the restaurant’s commitment to personal connection, making diners feel like part of the family rather than mere patrons.
