Carranza, currently with Aldosivi, recently achieved a significant milestone, helping the team secure promotion to the top division in 2024 and then fighting to maintain their status in a nail-biting season finale. This prosperous campaign served as his ultimate goal before stepping away from the game.
“That damn moment has arrived,” Carranza shared on social media, his words echoing the bittersweet emotions of a long career’s end. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to Instituto, his “great love on this plane,” the fans of every club he represented, his brother, who ignited his passion for soccer, and his family.
Aldosivi’s Heartfelt Farewell to a Captain
Following Carranza’s announcement, Aldosivi took to their social channels to honor their departing captain. For two years, Carranza was more than just a goalkeeper; he was a leader, both on and off the field, guiding the team through challenging times and celebrating their triumphs. Carranza’s professional journey began in 2001 with Instituto. His extensive resume includes stints with Rivadavia de Lincoln, Godoy Cruz (twice), Atlético Rafaela (twice), Ferro, O’Higgins in Chile, Colón, Olimpo, San Martín de Tucumán, Correcaminos in Mexico, and Boca Unidos. This nomadic career path is akin to a journeyman baseball player moving between MLB teams, showcasing his enduring dedication to the sport.
In 2020, Carranza returned to Instituto, where he clinched the First National championship and earned promotion to the top flight.
