Hundreds of young people with their teachers and parents participated in the closing ceremony of the School Sports and Parasports Games (JEDPA) organized by the Ministry of Education (Minedu), which this year achieved the participation of more than 3.4 million students from all regions of the country.
Delegations of schoolchildren came to the Eduardo Dibós Coliseum in San Borja to participate in the recognition ceremony for the winners in 11 sports disciplines which includes a parasports category, such as chess, gymnastics, judo, soccer, volleyball, basketball, etc. The captains of the winning teams received their respective trophies.
The director of Physical Education of Minedu, Mayra Valdivia, representing the Minister of Education, Jorge Figueroa, congratulated all the schoolchildren who participated in all stages of the JEDPA 2025 and affirmed that the school sports competition is a public policy and a breeding ground for athletes.
The Minedu highlighted the efforts carried out in the regional directorates of Education and the local educational management units in the first stages of the competition and invited the national educational community to strengthen support for athletes and para-athletes with a view to the JEDPA 2026.
