Yonex Internationaux de France: Rising Young Badminton Stars

For the major international badminton event which took place at the Glaz Arena in Cesson-Sévigné, near Rennes this year, several young people from the Redon Secular Association (ALR) Badminton club were able to make the trip on Wednesday October 22. The day was very rich. In the morning, the young people benefited from a moment of practice supervised by coaches from the Brittany Badminton League.

Then in the afternoon, the young people attended matches of the French Open tournament. They were thus able to see the world’s best badminton players, multiple world and Olympic champions, among all the badminton disciplines that are men’s, women’s and mixed doubles, as well as men’s and women’s singles.

This day full of emotion allowed them to see all the technicalities of high-level badminton. This global event concluded on Sunday October 26 with the defeat in men’s singles of one of the best French players, Christo Popov, world No. 8 and first Frenchman to reach the final of the Yonex French Open. He lost to the Dane Anders Antonsen, n°2.
