Guatemala City, October 8 (AGN).- The winningest team in baseball history is experiencing one of its darkest periods. The New York Yankees, owners of 27 World Series titles and symbol of power and tradition in the Major Leagues, were again left out of the fight for the championship, confirming that that dynasty that commanded respect today is barely a memory.

New York Yankees eliminated from 2025 postseason
The elimination in 2025 not only hurts because of the result, but because of what it represents: a decade and a half of failures, disappointments and millions of dollars invested without being able to return to the top. The team with the highest budget, the most emblematic stadium and the most demanding fans fell short again, victim of its own historical weight and of a board that seems to have lost its way.
Since their last championship in 2009, the Yankees have become a reflection of what they once swore they were not: a giant that lives on the past. Neither the big hires nor the promises of renewal have been enough to return them to glory. Every October, the ghosts of failure reappear in the Bronx, and with them, criticism of players and managers.
These have been the results of the Yankees in the Postseasonsafter winning champions against the Phillies in the 2009 World Series.
