Toohey arrives in the NBA after a strong showing in Australia’s National basketball League (NBL). Last season with the Sydney Kings, he averaged 10.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. His performance earned him the prestigious NBL Next Generation award for the 2024-25 season.
Hailing from Canberra, Australia, Toohey developed his game at the NBA Global Academy and was recognized for his talent by being selected for the 2023 nike Hoop Summit World Team. He was originally drafted by the Phoenix Suns with the 52nd overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.
During the NBA Summer League,Toohey competed in six games for the Warriors,averaging 6.8 points and 3.8 rebounds. While his shooting percentages from the field and beyond the arc were below 30%, his potential is evident.
