Romeo Vermant chose not to leave Club Brugge last summer. The 21-year-old attacker has absolutely no regrets about that decision.
“We now have a different status,” says Vermant about Club The Last Hour. “This is a team that plays for the title every year and does well in the Champions League.”
“So I think it was a very good decision to stay at Club Brugge,” says Vermant. “That might be better than going abroad and playing less. Because if you play, you stay in the picture. And if you also score, even more.”
The turning point for Vermant came in October 2024 when he scored against Anderlecht. “They then said that I didn’t score enough, and that changed. But then I had a small setback. I think the real turning point came in the play-offs, with my first starting place at Ghent, where I scored twice. After that I felt that my confidence had grown, and then the rest will take care of itself.”
