The Latvian-Estonian Basketball League (LIBL) club VEF Riga has successfully brought Latvian guard tom Leimanis back into the fold, a move that President gatis Jahovičs described as a strategic acquisition in a dynamic player market.
Leimanis, a seasoned 31-year-old Latvian talent, made his debut for VEF Riga in a FIBA Champions League matchup against Greek club Athens AEK. While the team ultimately fell 53-69, leimaniss presence marked a meaningful addition. The VEF Riga President acknowledged Leimanis’s standing in the latvian basketball scene, noting, his previous experience adn CV are notable. He is expensive, but we are also expecting more serious results and return.
The agreement is set to keep Leimanis with the team through their final Champions League game, with provisions for potential adjustments to the situation.
