ARRESTS FOR ILLEGAL BETTING IN THE NBA
Miami Heat player Terry Rozier and Portland Trail Blazers coach Chauncey Billups were arrested by the FBI as part of an investigation into illegal sports betting within the NBA.
The case involves 34 other prominent individuals and is the result of a year-long investigation linking four mafia families to organized crime networks.
According to authorities, Rozier and other defendants “had access to confidential information known to NBA players or coaches,” which allegedly allowed them to influence results or know in advance about certain players’ performance.
