MILAN – In a stunning upset that sent shockwaves through Serie A, league leaders AC Milan were held too a frustrating 2-2 draw at home against a resilient Pisa side in their eighth-round clash on Friday.

The Rossoneri, expected to cruise to victory on their home turf, drew first blood in the seventh minute with a clinical finish from star forward Rafael Leão. However, Pisa, a team battling in the relegation zone, showed unbelievable grit. After the hour mark, they clawed their way back into the game with a penalty conversion from Juan Cuadrado. It was a late surge that threatened to derail Milan’s title aspirations.

In the dying moments of stoppage time, he netted a crucial equalizer, assisted by the veteran Luka Modrić, salvaging at least a point for the home side. This dramatic finish mirrored the kind of nail-biting conclusions fans have come to expect from top-tier European football.

Despite the dropped points, AC Milan maintains its grip on the top spot in Serie A. Though, their lead has been trimmed to a mere two points over fierce rivals Inter Milan, with Napoli and AS Roma also closing in.
