Egor Taradin, head of the adult grassroots football department of the RFU:
– The Russian 8×8 Championship is a key tournament in adult grassroots football, the final of which always becomes the most anticipated event of the year for teams and organizers. We see great interest from the regions in this tournament – this year selections were held in each of them. We note the growth in the level of the teams that will take part in the final and are now actively preparing for it. The matches will be held on the excellent fields of the “Territory of Sports”, well known to us from last year’s Russian 8×8 Championship, there will be activity zones, and an educational seminar will be held for the first time at the 2018 World Cup “Fisht” stadium. We want all participants to enjoy the tournament and remember its unique atmosphere.

From November 3 to 5, as part of the Russian 8×8 Championship, an in-person educational seminar of the RFU Academy will be held for leaders of amateur leagues. The structure of the RFU futsal competitions will be discussed, including the areas of futsal and women’s football, digital services for grassroots football, a presentation of guidelines for the development of amateur football leagues, a practical lesson on organizing broadcasts of amateur league matches and other topics.
