At this year’s Rüschkamp Cup, the 1st JJJC Lünen was represented in all age groups.
First up were the youngest judoka in the U11 age group. Nesrin Kartal (+48 kg) unfortunately lost her first fight, but was able to win the second encounter with a lot of fighting spirit and thus secured second place. Laura Schulz (-30 kg) narrowly lost in her first fight by a judge’s decision before she was thrown out twice. She was able to win her last fight with skillful throwing techniques, winning the bronze medal. Her training colleague Luisa Link (-33 kg) fought two long and even fights. Luisa showed strong approaches and was only narrowly defeated, but still secured the silver medal.
Unfortunately, Luke Knof was unable to throw any throws in his strong weight class under 31 kg and was eliminated after two defeats.
In the U13 age group, Finn Wormitt (-46 kg) also met two very strong opponents. Despite good approaches, he was defeated in both duels and was eliminated. Oguz-Han Kartal got off to a furious start in his first official tournament. After two victories through well-applied throwing techniques, he reached the semi-finals of the class up to 55 kilograms. Here he unfortunately had to admit defeat to a more experienced opponent, but made it onto the podium with third place.
The U15 age group also had strong opponents, as the Lüner judoka also noticed. Luis Püschel (-55 kg) was eliminated after two defeats despite good throwing attempts. Nikola Bertele (-48 kg) skillfully won one of her four fights with a hold and won bronze.
In the unfortunately sparse U18 age group, Sophia Rump (-63 kg) only had one opponent. After two strong fights she had to settle for second place. Vanessa Rump and Hannah Debelius were only two in their weight class over 78 kg. Here Hannah had the upper hand in both duels and was happy about the gold medal, while Vanessa took second place.
