Badminton Stars Shine in Brive and Saint-Estève Tournaments
The competitive spirit of badminton was on full display this past weekend as players from Pradines Badminton showcased their talents in two key tournaments: Brive and Saint-Estève. The club celebrated critically important victories and strong performances, highlighting the dedication and skill of its athletes.
In Brive, the mixed doubles duo of Léo Valéry and Maya Lacombe-Kieffer reached the semi-finals in series 2, demonstrating notable teamwork. The highlight of the weekend came on Sunday with a commanding victory for the ladies’ doubles pair, Cousi Sabine and lisa Smaniotto, who clinched the title in series 3. Léo Valéry continued his strong showing, also reaching the semi-finals in men’s doubles series 3, partnered with Alexis Serre from Corrèze. Maya Lacombe-Kieffer further proved her mettle by advancing to another semi-final in women’s doubles series 2, this time alongside her consistent partner Anaïs Garcia from Athlé 46 Badminton Souillac.
Meanwhile, at the regional youth circuit tournament in Saint-Estève, young talents from the club, Clément Andrieu, Laura Prévost, and Anna Boumbaly, alongside Maëlia bruneau from Souillac, proudly represented their club and the Lot region. Clément Andrieu emerged victorious in Men’s Singles series 7, a remarkable achievement for the youngest competitor. Anna Boumbaly secured a commendable silver medal in women’s doubles minimal, teaming up with a player from the 66 region. Anna also showcased her singles prowess by reaching the semi-finals of series 3 singles ladies (minime).
Looking ahead, the Cahors sports center is set to host the first stage of the Youth 46 departmental circuit on Sunday, October 12th, promising more exciting badminton action for young athletes in the region.
