Polytechnic University recently hosted a vibrant Sports day, a testament to the institution’s commitment to student well-being and athletic development. Organized in partnership with Cus Torino, the event transformed the campus into a hub of athletic activity, offering students and staff a chance to engage with various sports and initiatives.
The campus grounds buzzed with energy as attendees explored diverse sports corners, sampling activities designed for the entire university community. student teams showcased their innovative prototypes, and the Samba project, a collaborative effort with other Piedmontese universities aimed at promoting psychophysical well-being, was presented via a cargo bike display.
A central multifunctional field became the arena for friendly competition, where participants could test their skills in volleyball, basketball, soccer, badminton, and pickleball. The day’s events culminated in the thirteenth edition of the Politour Run, a spirited one-mile race thru the university corridors. the starting pistol was fired by Stefano Sacchi, the Vice-rector for the company, community, and program implementation, alongside Riccardo D’Ebicio, President of CUS Torino. They were joined by Diego Nargiso, Senior Sport Manager of the Polytechnic, and celebrated Italian running champion Anna Arnaudo, an IT engineering PhD student and participant in the university’s Dual Career program.
The afternoon session, held in the “Emma Strada” room, focused on the university’s complete sports offerings. Vice-Rector for Training, Fulvio Corno, presided over presentations highlighting the Dual Career program and the university’s Sports Representatives.
The Dual Career program is a crucial initiative designed to help high-level student-athletes successfully balance their demanding academic pursuits with their competitive sports schedules. This program provides essential support throughout their university journey.During the event, updated program regulations and details for an upcoming announcement regarding participation were unveiled. The revised admission process categorizes participants into Gold, Silver, and Bronze tiers, with benefits tailored to individual academic achievements and athletic accomplishments.
Established in 2018, the Sports Representatives of Polytechnic University of Turin are a select group of students who proudly represent the institution at national and international sporting events. These talented athletes compete in disciplines including soccer, rowing, volleyball, basketball, and tennis.
