Müller Scores: MLS Playoff Win & Post-Match Reaction

Thomas Müller scored in his first MLS playoff game and contributed to his Vancouver Whitecaps winning 3-0 against FC Dallas. Müller made it 2-0 with a penalty kick in the 60th minute, marking his ninth goal in all competitions since moving to Canada two months ago.

To advance in the best-of-three mode of the first play-off round, Vancouver only needs one more win. The teams will meet in the second match in Dallas on Saturday evening.

“We controlled the game from the start. That was the plan – finding the balance between attacking and being ready for counterattacks. We controlled them well and distributed the ball well,” said Müller afterwards on Apple TV. “But that was just one win, we need a second one.”

Asked what makes the Whitecaps so special, Müller replied: “If I weren’t a player, but an expert, I would say: This team has a good cohesion. But as a player, I don’t reveal any secrets. We are ready for more. And I want to have fun with the boys.”
