The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) badminton teams are making waves, with the women’s squad securing their second consecutive gold medal at the 47th National Badminton Championship. The men’s team also brought home a bronze, showcasing the company’s athletic prowess.

Held recently in Hisar, Haryana, the championship saw fierce competition among teams representing various power companies nationwide. The MSEDCL women’s team proved their dominance by defeating the Gujarat team 2-0 in the finals, a repeat of their championship-winning performance from the previous year.

The victorious women’s roster included Captain Ritika Naidu,Anita Kulkarni,Chaitra Pai,Vaishnavi Gangarkar,adn Rani Pansare. Pai and Naidu teamed up to clinch the gold in the women’s doubles, while Kulkarni earned a silver medal in the singles competition.

On the men’s side,the team,led by Captain Bharat Vashisht and featuring pankaj Pathak,Rohan Patil,Suresh Jadhav,and Deepak Naikwade,battled their way to the semi-finals.Despite a strong showing, they ultimately secured the bronze medal in a challenging tournament.

Gunwant Ipper served as the coach for both the men’s and women’s teams, with Deputy Chief Industrial Relations Officer Bhupendra Waghmare managing the squads.the players received specialized training in Pune, with regional Director mr.Bhujang Khandare and Chief Engineer Mr. Sunil Kakade providing crucial support and motivation.
