Kempe OT Winner: [Team] Prevail Again

Forward Adrian Kempe is red-hot in extra time.

For the second game in a row, the NHL Swede stepped forward and pushed Los Angeles to victory.

On the night of Wednesday, it was St Louis Kempe who sank in overtime. Now it was Dallas who learned that the Olympic-selected Swede is a match winner.

Only 37 seconds into extra time on goal, the 29-year-old sent a direct shot past Dallas goalkeeper Jake Oettinger. The goal was Kempe’s fourth of the season and he has a total of eleven points after eight games played.

Kempe is one of six Tre Kronor players that national team captain Sam Hallam has selected in advance for the Olympics in Milan in February.

At Madison Square Garden in New York, San José’s 19-year-old super talent Macklin Celebrini had a big night. The Canadian accounted for a hat trick and two assists as San José won 6–5 against the New York Rangers after extra time. Mika Zibanejad netted for the home team.

– It was certainly a fun match to watch, but maybe not for the coaches, says the Swedish San José forward William Eklund, who had three appearances, to Aftonbladet.
