The sports teachers’ symposium took place in Kartitsch for the first time this year in brilliant autumn weather – organized by chairwoman Conny Schroffenegger-Bodner and the team from the East Tyrolean teachers’ sports club. Around 50 sports educators from all over East Tyrol – from elementary school to high school – accepted the invitation to further their training, exchange experiences and gather new ideas for teaching.
The teachers’ sports club had put together a varied program: both the keynote speech and the workshops were designed by experienced speakers. Former ski jumping coach Alexander Pointner kicked things off with his lecture “From the big picture to the really big”. He provided exciting insights into his coaching work, spoke about the fine-tuning of athletes and drew parallels to educational work. His central message: Motivation, sensitivity and mental strength are crucial not only in top-class sport, but also in teaching.
Experience community with Qiunity team building
For the first time, participants were able to get to know the Qiunity team building program, which promotes emotional connection, trust, empathy and better communication in the team through group synchronization (TeamSync). Afterwards, the motivated teachers distributed themselves across six practice-oriented workshops: slackline, tennis, badminton, yoga, first aid and spikeball. In addition to middle and high school teachers, elementary school teachers also took part – which further enriched the interdisciplinary exchange.
Exhibitors such as Sportcamp Salcher, the staff representatives and Wiener Städtische Versicherung were also represented with information stands and offered valuable insights and contacts. At lunch in “Rumplstiltskin” the guests were treated to regional specialties such as burgers, donuts and other delicacies.
The East Tyrolean Teachers’ Sports Association would like to thank all participants, exhibitors and guests for their active participation. A special thank you goes to the municipality of Kartitsch and Mayor Josef Ausserlechner for their support and to the Tyrol University of Education (PHT) for their cooperation and professional support.
