Historical medal! Honduras won gold in the 3×3 women’s basketball that took place in the XII Central American Sports Games 2025 in Guatemala.
The Honduran women’s team defeated Nicaragua 12-11 in the grand final to claim first historic place in this sport for the country.
The catracho team is made up of the athletes: Nelly Rápalo (captain), Tirss García, Ankara Reichle and Giulianna Guerrero They demonstrated great talent in this discipline.
“We have a lot of time together,” were the words of Nelly Rápalo at the end of the meeting and carrying the Honduran flag. The sports hall applauded the nationals.
Honduras already has 4 gold medals in Guatemala, the previous three through swimmers Gabriel Martínez and Diego Dulieu, in addition to the discus thrower, Wiston Campbell.
Honduras presented with a delegation of more than 300 athletes to the highest competition in Central America and they also have as a group objective the achievement of more than 30 gold medals.
