Traveling to Düsseldorf to face their bête noire, Germany, in the semi-final first leg of the Nations League, Laurent Bonadei’s French women’s team will play in its usual 4-3-3. As expected, the coach cannot count on Sakina Karchaoui (crutch) and Griedge Mbock (right quadriceps) in his starting lineup.
The captain and vice-captain of the Blues are still present on the bench and may possibly come into play depending on the evolution of the score. In the absence of the two executives, it is an ex-Parisian, Grace Geyoro, who will wear the armband on her bicep.
The revenge of the Euro
The midfielder will be responsible for holding the midfield alongside Oriane Jean-François and Sandy Baltimore. Up front, the trio Delphine Cascarino – Marie-Antoinette Katoto – Kadidiatou Diani will have the mission to pierce the German rearguard, who resisted the Tricolores last summer in Basel, in the quarter-finals of the Women’s Euro (1-1, 5-6 tab).
As a reminder, the French team will host the return match at the Michel d’Ornano stadium in Caen on October 28. The other semi-final pits Spain against Sweden.
