The coach of Cali aims high
John Ortiz, DT del Deportivo Cali female, spoke about the secret of the team’s success after winning the Women’s League in Colombia and the victory against Colo Colo in the semifinal to be one step away from the continental title.
“We were criticized, I was one of those criticized for that. They even said what did we think because it was an international tournament… That was precisely why, we had Copa Libertadores Before and when we had seven or eight reinforcements, we went down to five to six, but the issue is not the people who arrive, but those who are there and those who have been working on that path with the base,” explained the coach.
And he added: “We are doing it, it is one more step, we are aware that we have not won anything, we have nothing in our hands, but we do have something to win and to go even further.”

The coach is only interested in the title and pointed out that the rival should not persuade them. “Since we left Colombia after being champions, it has always been a purpose, we have fallen short and I have been saying it for a while, it is the duty we have with the fans, the institution and our families. Starting from the fact that it is a Brazilian, a Chilean, an Ecuadorian, it could have been an Argentine, the motivation is always there because it is what we have committed to.”
