The Santo Domingo International Badminton Open 2025 concluded with a triumphant performance by the Dominican Republic’s own Laritza Pie and Nairobi Jiménez, who clinched the gold medal in the women’s doubles category. The prestigious tournament, hosted by the Dominican Badminton Federation at the New Horizons Academy, showcased a high level of international competition, drawing athletes from 16 nations.
Pie and Jiménez displayed extraordinary skill and strategic prowess, overcoming their compatriots Liselot Sánchez and A. Sánchez Matos in a thrilling three-set final. The Dominican pair secured the victory with scores of 18-21, 21-16, and 21-17, earning the silver medal for Sánchez and Matos.
