Badminton: Enhanced Technician Training & Impact

Santo Domingo.– The Organizing Committee of the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026, teaches a training course for badminton referees and linesmen, to raise their quality and organization of the event.

The training program, which has been carried out since last Friday with more than 30 participants, at the Olympic Stadium, by Cuban instructors Orlando Arturo Cala Martínez and Luis Enrique Charadán Pierre.

“The objective is to take these games to a higher dimension compared to previous editions, and with the work group we have we can achieve it,” said Cala Martínez, president of the Cuban Badminton Federation and head of the Central American Confederation. The referees will have a practical exam at the Santo Domingo Open Internacional, from October 15 to 19.

“From this group will come the certified technical officials for the 2026 Games,” added Cala Martínez. For his part, Luis Enrique Charadán Pierre, advisor to the Badminton World Federation, highlighted the motivation and commitment of the participants.
