Asti Cup 2024: Success & Highlights | [Year] Edition

Teh PalaBrumar in Asti was buzzing wiht energy this past Sunday as the third annual City of Asti Cup unfolded. This prestigious judo event, backed by the Municipality of Asti, drew a formidable lineup of competitors from across Piedmont and its neighboring regions, with notable contingents also arriving from Sardinia and Emilia Romagna. the home crowd had plenty to cheer about as the athletes from Asti Judo delivered a standout performance, securing multiple podium finishes across various weight and age divisions. Their collective success propelled the club to an extraordinary 7th place overall out of a competitive field of 56 participating organizations.

Asti Judo’s medalists Shine:

In the pre-competitive children’s category, Castagnaro Ismaele and Laura passarella clinched gold, demonstrating early promise. The Ferlisi brothers, Gioele and Gabriele, along with Siccardi Samuele, earned bronze, showcasing strong sibling and team synergy.

The pre-competitive boys’ division saw Martina De Tata claim the top spot on the podium. Sofia Kalnitska secured a silver medal, while Linda Giaretti and EPRHAM Mantua rounded out the medalists with bronze.

Among the Agonists,Alvi Alla fought their way to a first-place victory.

While not all athletes reached the podium, the spirit of competition was undeniable. Giacomo Cucè, for instance, displayed remarkable determination and courage, underscoring the technical growth and unwavering passion evident in every training session.The coaching staff and club management expressed immense satisfaction with the commitment and sportsmanship displayed by all the athletes, many of whom were experiencing their first competitive outing of the season.

The opening ceremony was graced by the presence of distinguished city and sports officials. Stefano Mossino, President of CONI Piedmont, along with Maurizio Rasero, the Mayor of Asti, and Deputy Mayor stefania Morra, were in attendance. Lavinia saracco, the Provincial delegate of CONI, delivered remarks highlighting the vital role of sports in fostering personal progress and community among young peopel.

Federal representatives also lent their support,including FIJLKAM regional president Roberto borgis and the president of the Judo sector,Daniela Pelizzari. Cristina Cirillo shared her enthusiasm, stating, It was a wonderful day of sport and judo, marked by enthusiastic participation and excellent fair play from all the clubs present. We are incredibly proud of our athletes and extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed to the event’s success.

Asti Judo extends its thankfulness to all the participating companies for their presence and cooperation. Special thanks are also due to the dedicated volunteers and technical staff whose efforts were instrumental in ensuring the seamless organization of the event.
