The ankle injury, though, has sadly led to Alcaraz’s withdrawal from the upcoming 1000 Masters of Shanghai. This means he will be unable to defend the 200 ranking points he earned in 2024. Despite this setback,his commanding lead in the ATP rankings ensures he will remain at the pinnacle of men’s tennis.
Alcaraz took to social media to deliver the disappointing news to his fans: I am disappointed to announce that I will not be able to play the Shanghai Masters 1000 this year. Unfortunately, I have been dragging physical discomfort and after talking to my team, we have believed that the best decision is to rest and recover.
He expressed his eagerness to return to China, adding, I am looking forward to playing in front of Shanghai fans again and I hope to be back to see my Chinese followers next year.
