Luca Zidane has made a striking choice with regard to his international career. The son of the French legend Zinedine Zidane does not choose France, but for Algeria. With that he wants to make his appearance at the World Cup in 2026.
The son of Zidane did not yet come to a debut at Les Blues. The goalkeeper of the Spanish Granada hopes to be able to shine with his homeland at the World Cup in 2026 in the United States, Canada and Mexico. World Football Association FIFA has already approved the switch to Algeria.
Zidane played for various French youth teams until the Onder-20. Algeria hopes to qualify against Somalia for the World Cup next month. Zinedine, his father, became world champion with France in 1998. His last game at the 2006 World Cup was also memorable. He was sent off the field in the final against Italy after a head bump against Marco Materazzi. Zidane attracted the shirt from France 108 times and scored 31 goals.
With the goalkeeper’s international switch, he hopes to follow his father’s tracks by making his appearance at a World Cup. The final post defended two games for the goal for Real Madrid. He also played for Rayo Vallecano, SD Eibar and Racing Santander.
