It is understood that the space under the bridge is about 30,000 square meters, which has been idle for many years. Due to the long-term lack of management and maintenance, weeds in the plot are growing wildly and various types of garbage and debris have accumulated, which not only affects the beauty of the urban environment, but also causes waste of space resources. In recent years, in order to respond to relevant policy requirements for the comprehensive utilization of urban space and implement the people’s livelihood needs of the development of idle land at the bottom of the bridge as sports facilities, Hongshan District launched the comprehensive renovation of the plot in March 2025. During the rectification process, the staff first carried out a comprehensive cleaning of the garbage and debris in the plot, leveled the land, repaired the ground, and gradually restored the clean appearance of the plot.

Subsequently, after investigation, the relevant departments learned that within 3 kilometers of the plot, there was a large demand for football and tennis sports venues, but the venue was insufficient, so they decided to convert the plot into sports space to meet the needs of citizens.

“This sports venue radiates to more than ten communities in the surrounding areas such as Fudi Yuecheng, Chutian Yayuan, and Poly New Wuchang, benefiting tens of thousands of residents.” Bi Feng, head of the Municipal Appearance Order Section of the Urban Management Law Enforcement Bureau of Hongshan District, said that this high-standard under-bridge sports space not only creates a high-standard revitalizes urban resources and fills the shortcomings of sports facilities in Hongshan District, but will also become an important carrier for polishing the livable Hongshan brand with professional venue configuration and complete service facilities.
